Friendly Captcha (Bot/Spam Protection)

Our website uses the service “Friendly Captcha” (www.friendlycaptcha.com).
This service is provided by Friendly Captcha GmbH, Am Anger 3–5, 82237 Wörthsee, Germany.

Friendly Captcha is an innovative and privacy-friendly security solution designed to make it difficult for automated programs and scripts (so-called “bots”) to use our website.

We have integrated a program code provided by Friendly Captcha into our website (e.g., for contact forms). This enables the visitor’s device to connect to Friendly Captcha’s servers in order to receive a computational task from Friendly Captcha. The visitor’s device solves this task, which requires the use of certain system resources, and sends the result back to our web server. Our server then contacts Friendly Captcha’s server via an interface and receives a response indicating whether the puzzle was solved correctly by the device. Depending on the result, we can apply security rules to requests submitted through our website and either process or reject them.

The data is used exclusively for the above-mentioned protection against spam and bots.
Friendly Captcha does not place or read any cookies on the visitor’s device.
IP addresses are stored only in hashed (one‑way encrypted) form and neither we nor Friendly Captcha can identify an individual based on them.

If personal data is collected, it will be deleted no later than 30 days afterward.

Further information on data protection in connection with the use of Friendly Captcha can be found at:
https://friendlycaptcha.com/legal/privacy-end-users/

  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Browser and operating system used
  • Full IP address of the requesting device
  • Amount of data transferred

This data is not merged with other data sources.

For technical security reasons, in particular to defend against attempted attacks on our web server, we store this data for a short period of time. These data do not allow us to draw any conclusions about individual persons.

After no more than seven days, the data are anonymized by shortening the IP address at domain level, making it impossible to establish any link to individual users.
In anonymized form, the data are also processed for statistical purposes; they are not compared with other datasets nor shared with third parties, even in part.
